We Install Metal Roofs in Richmond, VA
Roof problems are caused by cheap details.
We excel at details so you know you have a quality roof.
Standing Seam Mechanical Lock
While we are a metal roof contractor based in Richmond, Va this roof was installed in West Point, Va. The homeowner had a roof that was falling apart and wanted to replace it with a roof that mimics the period that his home was built in. This is the kind of metal roof that would have been installed at that time which also happens to be one the the longest lasting metal roofs there is.
Double Locked Ridge
The roof is constructed by seaming metal pans together at the seams. Where the pans come together, instead of using a ridge cap like modern steel roofs, a they double locked together which allows for expansion and contraction and prevents fasteners from ripping the metal.
D Style Drip Edge
Each pan is locked onto a D style drip edge nailed on the eave of the roof. While the old way is to nail the edge metal down onto the facia or leave it hanging, this is a modern improvement that prevents the metal from tearing.
Double Hemmed Valley
This valley has two hems the first is underneath the pans over laying the valley to prevent ice damming from creeping into the attic. The second hem is what the pans lock onto. This allows the pans to expand and contract throughout the seasons.
